Night-time Exploration in Gion, the Geisha district - is world famous and one of the most popular walking tours in Japan with more than 7,000 guests a year.
Highlights
During the 100-minute tour, the guide will lead you to the hidden street of the geisha district. Walking over the classic cobblestone next to the Shirakawa river, the scenery of which was featured in the novel / movie, "Memoirs of a Geisha," and while walking alongside the beautiful stream, the guide will tell you the story about what the geisha really is with a detailed explanation about their kimono, hairstyle, traditional rules, and how their daily life is, and more... Guests will often encounter geisha walking in the street, though we cannot guarantee. The tour fee is 1,500 yen per person without reservation and 1,200 yen per person with prior reservation and payment.

Getting to the meeting point, Gion Omoide Museum
Simply text “Gion Omoide Museum” to find the location by Google Map.
The location is usually called “KITAZA” by Kyoto people, but Google Map does NOT show by that name. So please find it by the name “Gion Omoide Museum” instead. From JR Kyoto Station, take Kyoto City Bus #4, #5, #17 or #205; get off at Shijo Kawaramachi and walk about 5 minutes to the northeast (see map). The closest train station is Keihan Gion Shijo Station.
